Instant Pot Bone Broth

A few years ago I released a recipe for “Gold Standard Bone Broth” but I’m updating it because now it’s even faster and more convenient due to having an Instant Pot!

Plus, it’s even more of a no-brainer when you use the Farm57 Broth Kit, it’s perfect for the cold months ahead!

Instant Pot Bone Broth

1 package Farm57 chicken backs

1 package Farm57 chicken feet

3 quarts of water (or fill up to the max line on your instant pot)

optional: (we like to include them, but not necessary)

  • vegetables such as celery, carrots, onions

  • seasonings: salt and pepper, a bay leaf, rosemary

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients into your instant pot

  2. Place lid on the cooker and set to High Pressure for 90 minutes

  3. When cook time is done, allow the pot to naturally release pressure

  4. Release any remaining pressure and remove lid

  5. Strain the broth. Be careful to strain it INTO a container and not down the drain! It’s a major bummer to make this mistake.

Storage

Broth can be immediately ladled into prepped and hot jars for pressure canning, where it will be shelf stable. OR, broth can be cooled and put into freezer containers or freezer bags for 6 months. I have done both methods, both are great.

If you decide to freeze, I suggest placing 1-2 cups of broth in each freezer bag since this is typically what is needed for a recipe.
