Pasture Raised Pork Sausage Chili
This recipe is our favorite chili; we’ve tried a bunch of different kinds over the years. I’ve made it so many times that I have the shopping list memorized and instead of it staying on my Pinterest board, it’s written down permanently in my cookbook. Our pasture raised pork gives it the WOW factor, and there’s also a fun, surprise ingredient.
Ingredients:
2 pounds Farm57 pork sausage
1 onion
garlic
2 cans fire roasted diced toma
24 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 beef broth
2 TB chili powder
2 1/2 tsp cumin
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp cocoa
1 tsp sugar
1 can red beans
1 can black beans
Directions:
In a skillet, brown sausage and onion until sausage is cooked through. Place meat mixture into a crockpot along with all other ingredients. Cook 5-6 hours on low.
Serve chili topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.
Double the recipe if you like leftovers or want some to freeze :)
